Uttoxeter is a market town of about 12,000 souls Streamyx Streamyx eastern part of land-locked Staffordshire County, in the Streamyx region. The current population is approximately 12,000, but rising rapidly thanks Streamyx new housing developments in the area.
In 2008 Uttoxeter celebrated the 700th anniversary the day in 1308 when it was awarded a Market Charter. The charter was preceded by a general Royal Charter that the received in 1252. On Saturdays, Wednesdays and most holidays the charter is exercised.
Since 2005 Uttoxeter has been home to the Flourish Festival, which celebrates the arts of the region. The 2005 inaugural Flourish Festival, focused on local visual artists and crafts, was a resounding success - so much so that the event was expanded to include music and drama in 2006. In 2007 a food portion was added.
The 2007 Flourish Festival saw professional and streamyx 60 musical acts and theatre Streamyx generate the largest crowd yet. In fact, crowds were so large and the event so complex that the organizers, feeling the festival was growing too fast too quickly, toned down the 2008 Flourish Festival back to re-focus on local artists. The 2009 edition of the Flourish Festival runs from June 20th to the 27th. It will again be focused on local artists in the visual arts, music, drama and dance.
Uttoxeter is also home to Uttoxeter Racecourse, a National Hunt course of about a mile and a quarter Streamyx A left hand oval, the Uttoxeter Racecourse has an atypical right Streamyx in the back straight. The facility is within walking distance of the town centre. Uttoxeter Racecourse is known for staging events year round in what is traditionally a winter sport. It is the site of the Midlands Grand National, held in Streamyx March, and the Summer National, held every July. Both races of over four miles distance.
